I met Jason on the hot Cali beaches during the summer of 1996. We courted and fell in love playing beach volleyball everyday. We were both attending Ricks college in the fall... got engaged in September...got married in December...got a baby the next October. After that we just kept having a kid per year. 4 years and 4 months after our first was born, our 4th, and LAST was born. Rae is now 14, Jaxson is 12, Teegan is 11 and Katauna is 10. Five years ago, preparing (without a tear might I add) to send my last one off to kindergarten, we were blessed with a HUGE surprise. Number 4 was not our last after all. Having another one after a 5 1/2 year break has been AMAZING... a little piece of heaven. Of course we couldn't let her be lonely, stuck at home with mom for 5 years while the big kids are off at school, so we got her a little sister 13 months later. Sienna is now 4, and Jace is 3. Amazed everyday at the life I have that is so much more than I ever imagined.
I blog for one reason. Because I don't scrapbook. I kept a scrapbook for McKyla until she was about 11 months old. I hate it. It's hideous. I've never kept a baby book for any of them. I'm horrible at keeping a journal. My last entry was when I found out I was pregnant with Sienna. And I didn't even finish the entry. So, I blog for one reason. For my kids. You won't find much here in the way of wit, humor, or mad creative writing skills. (Not that I don't have all of those qualities...trust me I really do. And humility.) What you'll find here is my kids. Their lives. What we do together. What they are going through. How much I love them. And that's it. I do it for them. They read it all the time. I'll be binding each year into a blog book (thanks for that idea Laura), and we'll keep them forever. And now I don't have to feel guilty that I don't scrapbook or keep a baby book or a journal. Okay, maybe I still feel a little guilty about the journal...
